This solicitation intends to post the Justification and Approval to solicit to one source. The GeneXpert instrument rapidly identifies a multitude of infectious diseases within 3 hours of testing using PCR technology. The instrument is simple to use and moderately complex. The test cartridges combines DNA or RNA purification coupled with Real Time PCR in a closed system. The analyzer will add definitive rapid test results for Tuberculosis (TB), Influenza(Flu), Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Clostridium difficile (C. diff), Group B Streptococcus (GBS), Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and Neisseiria gonorrhoea (NG). This will consolidate the above listed assays on one platform. Calibration materials are all included in the service contract .
