First published Tuesday, May 16, 2017 The University awarded a contract for Cervical Spine Cages and Plating Systems to LDR, Warsaw, IN, for an estimated $600,000. In order to treat patients requiring a Cervical Disc Replacement we are seeking the use of Cervical Disc Prosthesis as a single use sterile packed implantable device with FDA clearance for cervical intervertebral disc replacement at one level and two contiguous levels FDA clearance from C3-C7 to maintain and restore segmental motion and cervical disc height. The Cervical Disc Prosthesis must be FDA cleared for indications in skeletally mature patients for reconstruction of the disc from C3-C7 following discectomy at one level and two contiguous levels for intractable radiculopathy (arm pain and/or neurological deficit) with or without neck pain or myelopathy due to abnormality localized to the level of the disc space. Additionally, the prosthesis must allow for zero profile implantation and fixation for lateral, anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF), and anterior cervical discectomy fusion (ACDF). Current approved options for UIC do not include Cervical Total Disc Replacement implants or surgical procedure options.
