DESC: The U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric and Administration (NOAA), and National Marine Fisheries Services,Miami, FL intend to procure the Charter of commercial longline fishing vessels for evaluation of spatial variability in red snapper size and age distributions.

To inform stock assessments for this species, an improved understanding of spatial variability in red snapper size and age distributions is needed.

The objective of this work is to address two questions:

(1) Are red snapper in continental shelf-break waters (transition zone between continental shelf and slope, also referred to as the "roll-down"; depths ~27 fathoms (FA) - 100FA) off of northern FL and GA) older and larger, on average, than individuals in continental shelf waters (in two depth zones < 27 FA; see below for detail); and

(2) What proportion of the overall stock (roll-down plus continental shelf waters) do fish on the roll-down represent?

This is a small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this action is 483114. Small business size standard shall not to exceed 500. This support service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items Procedures.
