The City of Carlsbad, New Mexico, provides a public fireworks display on the evening of the Fourth of July on an annual basis. The fireworks show is paid for by the City of Carlsbad Lodgers Tax Fund as well as funding provided by Eddy County and other public and private sources. The display is produced from an area just east of the Pecos River and the Lake Carlsbad Recreation Area, on the property of the Lake Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course. The viewing area for the public is primarily along the western side of the Pecos River in an area that covers approximately 125 acres. This show has been known to draw in excess of 10,000 spectators. The City of Carlsbad is seeking to enter into a four year agreement with a qualified pyrotechnic firm to provide fireworks for this highly anticipated annual public event.
