The Hospice is being constructed on a greenfield site, therefore there are no limitations on work hours (other than that imposed by the Municipality) or workdays. The 4-acre site is located on 1785 Cobbledick Road. in Newcastle, Ontario. 1785 Cobbledick Road is just east of Hwy 115 and south of Hwy 2. The site is serviced with hydro but not natural gas, sewer, or municipal water. The new 10 bed Hospice will be a one storey building of approximately 16,000 square feet with no basement. The facility will include 10 patient / resident rooms, kitchen, spa, living room and other support spaces. The project will include all site work associated with utilities (including septic, well water and associated fire prevention water storage tanks, and on site propane fuel storage tank, generator), 27 car parking lot, landscaping, storm water management and outdoor amenity spaces. With respect to propane the contractor is responsible only to co-ordinate the installation with Owner’s Propane vendor. The scope of work will include the construction of the following: - 10 Resident Bedrooms with private washrooms. - Waiting Area -Client/Patient - Reception - Dining Room - Multi-Use Room(s) - Offices - Counselling Group rooms - Kitchen (Residential Kitchen)1 - Barrier-Free Washroom with shower (s) - Tub Room with shower - Laundry Room - Staff lounge - Building Support services - Site Servicing and Utilities (including septic system, well water and treatment, fire suppression (based on well water system), and propane storage tank) - Landscaping - 27-30 car parking lot
