NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE:
The Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Office of Acquisition Washington DC 20228, hereby gives notice of their intent to solicit from a single source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) to North Star Communications, Inc.; P.O. Box 861588; Vint Hill Farms Station, VA. 20187. The contracting officer has determined in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing has a need to service and maintain existing High Frequency (HF) radio, antenna, and ancillary equipment located at its Washington DC, and Fort Worth TX facilities required under a Treasury mandate. The equipment is manufactured by Codan Radio Communications of Australia. Market research has revealed that North Star Communications, Inc. is the sole North American company authorized to provide maintenance and service for these HF Radios and all ancillary equipment for this system.
