The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to acquire on a sole source basis with Carl ZeissMicroimaging, Inc. in Thornwood, NY components for a Coherent Ultra-II IR Laser, Zeiss LSM 710 System. These components completely integrate with a Coherent Ultra-II IR laser, Zeiss LSM 710 system currently being utilized at USUHS. The components will allow USUHS researchers to see molecular and protein components using advanced and unique noise limiting technology. This award is IAW FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1) and authorizes USUHS to award contracts when only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
