This requirement is for the following:
MAGIC 250 Condensation Particle Counter Qty 10

The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Commercial Purchase Order and carried out as a sole source action (not competitively awarded). The statutory authority which permits other than full and open competition for this acquisition is 10 United States Code (USC) 2304 (c) (1), as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b). This authority is supported by an approved Single Source
Justification. The applicable NAICS code is 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, and the size standard as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration is 500 employees.

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) requires an upgrade to their existing inventory of Condensation Particle Counters (CPC). These devices support local and regional air quality assessment impacts of Air and Space operations and are used in AFIT curriculum to train students to deploy these instruments in the field to support mission-critical capabilities. AFIT currently utilizes MAGIC CPCs manufactured by Aerosol Devices, Inc. The upgrade to MAGIC 250 allows compatibility with the remaining inventory and reduces downtime and costs associated with training on a different device.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. No solicitation package will be issued. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
