1. Discussions in pre site visit, MGE understands that the
contractor is to receive drawings that include the one line diagram and panel schedules, and existing floor plans. We understand that we are to follow one line diagram and either confirm the correctness of the diagram and document; and if there are discrepancies, we are to note on the drawings in red and turn in to the contracting officer. This is all of the documentation that is wanted in this project, is this correct?

ANSWER: All electrical distribution equipment to include feeder and branch circuits, transformers, transformers, switchgear, distribution panelboards, disconnect switches, busses, fuses, circuit breaker, receptacles, motor horsepower and other loads shown on the One-Line Drawing, Floor Plan, and Panel Schedule Drawings (that the bidders may be downloaded from the FBO or otherwise be provided by the government) shall be verified for accuracy of their designation, type, size, capacity, current and voltage ratings, location, designation, and number by highlighting in yellow on the drawings each device or circuit that has been verified to be accurate.

Red mark with an "X" the inaccurate information; and provide corrected information. Draw, sketch, and indicate on the drawings all feeder and branch circuits, transformers, transformers, switchgear, distribution panelboards, disconnect switches, busses, fuses, circuit breaker, receptacles, motor horsepower and other loads electrical the designation, type, size, capacity, full load or nameplate and short circuit current ratings, voltage rating, location, designation, and number equipment not currently identified neatly and legibly. Measure circuit current loads and voltage with connected equipment operating at their peak rating and indicate such on the drawings.

2. We do not need to turn in drawings made by an engineer. Is
this correct?

ANSWER: No drawings are required to be provided by a Registered Professional Engineer.

3. We do not turn in estimates that would be required to make
corrections that are discovered in the walk down. Is this correct?

ANSWER: No cost estimates are required.

4. We do not gather information on the AFFF system. Is this
correct?

ANSWER: Read the existing motor name plate ratings of the AFFF pump motors and on all other connected loads to include the Avionics Cooling Units, HVAC Condensing Units, Air Handling Units, Exhaust Fans, Hydraulic Power Units (Mules), Air Compressors, etc. and indicated rating on the One-Line and Plan. The AFFF Pumps shall be manually energized to recirculate AFFF concentrate to the AFFF storage tank under the coordination with the Fire Department and our 7CES Alarm Shop.

5. We do not gather information on the 400Hz system. Is this
correct?

ANSWER: Read the KW and/or KVA nameplate input rating of the 400HZ inverters. Show the KVA rating on the One-Line; and show the actual measured load current on the Panel Schedules.

6. We are to mark locations of all panels, transformers and major
electrical load users and major receptacles. No work is required for the 120v convenience receptacles except for designation of the circuit breaker that it comes from and this is to only be identified in the circuit breaker panel. Is this correct?

ANSWER: Multiple 120VAC receptacles on a common branch circuit such as in office spaces are not required to be tested. 120VAC receptacles that serve by dedicated circuit breakers shall be loaded and tested with the equipment intended.

7. We are to provide corrected panel schedules, provide in the
panel and also as submittal at end of project. Is this correct?

ANSWER: Provide red marked information on the blank panel schedules to be provided on government furnished drawings. If panels are identified by the contractor during the survey that are not shown on the government provided drawings, the government will revise the sheet with the added panel schedule to be completed as part of this survey.

8. Load information can only be taken when the equipment is
plugged in and turned on, is this to be performed for all receptacle locations that are determined as "major receptacles" if so, who plugs in the equipment, and turns on the GFE that will be energized?

ANSWER: Operation of all equipment in the facility shall be coordinated with the Users. The User will connect and energize all equipment that directly support aircraft maintenance such as the hydraulic power units, 400Hz Converters, and other portable equipment. To get a fair representation of the Hangar electrical distribution system capability, at least two mules shall be connected and operated simultaneously for a test at the west, middle, and east pylon.

9. Is contractor suppose to furnish locking hasp, and or locks
for panel doors? If so, is it all electrical panels or one that the location is subjected to general population and not controlled by locked equipment rooms?

ANSWER: Provide hasps only on panels that have no existing locking capability; and that cannot be secured inside electrical rooms or electrical closets with locking door hardware.

10. MGE understands this contract as a walk down of the one line
diagram, confirm or make corrections, document with a red line on drawings, or new panel schedules. No drawings by engineer is to be provided back to the government. Plastic name plates to be made for all of items on one line diagram and "major Receptacle" that are being used. Taking voltage and ampere readings at all equipment that can be opened and confirmed?

ANSWER: Engineering drawings are not required. Provide engraved nametags mechanically fastened to all distribution panelboards & disconnect switches. Provide stamped metal tags on dedicated receptacles.

11. We do not mark any junction boxes, tap boxes, gutters, conduit,
or circuits in cable tray. Is this correct?

ANSWER: Marking of junction boxes, tap boxes, gutters, or circuits is not required. Conductor size and number for each feeder and branch circuits is required to be red marked on the drawings.

12. We do not need a lift to reach any boxes that are in the ceiling
structure area?

ANSWER: There is no equipment to be surveyed that will require a lift.

13. The lighting circuits will be confirmed at the lighting panels
only. and minor receptacle loads will be confirmed at the electrical branch panels only

ANSWER: Correct

Recommend daily contact be made with the 7CES QA person to review survey work performed each day and the work planned for the next day. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to coordinate with Dyess personnel and to provide adequate advanced notification to all.
