Introduction
The Alcon Constellation Vision System offers a number of features that have become the standard for vitrectomy and phacoemulsification surgery integrates light source and laser capabilities in a way that no other system to our offers. Capabilities include 7.500 cuts/ per minute vitrectomy, support off 20 ,23,25 and 27 gauge instrumentation, surgeon duty cycle control infusion pressure monitoring storage and dispensation of vitreous substitute gas, xenon light illumination with automatic adjustment for gauge and integrated indirect laser and endo laser.
Background
The Clinical Center is a clinical research hospital providing medical and surgical services for patients participating in the human research protocols of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Clinical Center Department of Peri-Operative Medicine (DPM) provides anesthesia and surgical services to actively support the mission of the Clinical Center (CC). Within the CC, DPM will provide patient care, consultative and pain management services, training and the environment needed to initiate and support the clinical research sponsored by the individual NIH Institutes.
The overall mission of the DPM is to provide high quality and cost effective perioperative nursing and anesthesia services to Clinical Center patients and institutes, to build alliances and to facilitate the conduct of clinical research protocols from all institutes.
Scope
The Clinical Center intends to award a single Purchase Order to Alcon Laboratories to obtain the Constellation LXT to which shall include all required components.
