THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

Naval Medical Center San Diego anticipates making a sole source award under Statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) and FAR 13.106-1(b) (1) (i), only one responsible source, with:

The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies available from one source. The objective of this sole source award is to procure supplies needed for ALIF and TLIF procedures for surgery on 13 May 16. Supplies include an Anterior Titanium Cage and the following salient characteristics:
The minimum requirements for the Anterior Titanium Cage used in the procedure are as follows:
1. Device must have an integrated expandable corpectomy spacer.
2. Device must use superior and inferior integrated screws designed to prevent dislodging.
3. Device must have integrated titanium plates and screws for additional stabilization between the vertebral bodies and spacer.

The minimum requirements for the ALIF/TLIF devices are as follows:
1. Device must have an extended screw head to minimize outer diameter to help reduce muscle disruption and screw sleeve interference.
2. Device must use deformity adapters to attach to the extended screw head to allow for screw manipulation and deformity correction.
3. Device must ensure proper thread alignment while capturing, reducing, and locking the rod in one step.

The NAICS code for this requirement is 339112.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
