Crankshafts and Bearing Set

 

The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) – Fort Hood, Texas is currently conducting preliminary planning market research to determine commercial market practices and the existence of viable commercial sources capable of providing complete non-personal services for  providing wheeled vehicle diesel engine crankshafts exchange (refurbished), and pick-up and delivery support for the Directorate of Logistics (DOL), Fort Hood, Texas.  The anticipated period of performance is one base year with the possibility of four (4) 1-year option periods.

 

An important outcome of this research is the possibility of setting aside this acquisition for exclusive competitive participation within a specific Small Business Administration (SBA) program in accordance with (IAW) FAR 19.201(a). Specific SBA programs are veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, economically-disadvantage women-owned small business, and women-owned small business.

 

MICC-Fort Hood is seeking industry information and comments from sources with the capability to perform the contract and with relevant experience in all of the functional areas mentioned in the Description of Services.  Interested parties shall complete and submit the attached Market Research Questionnaire to the Government.  You are advised that providing a response to the questionnaire will not automatically include you in the acquisition process for future solicitation.

MICC Fort Hood will not accept unsolicited proposals related to the subject of this Sources Sought Notice.  The responder must clearly identify any information it considers sensitive or proprietary.  All information received in response to this Sources Sought Notice that is marked “Proprietary” and will be handled accordingly.  Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will not be returned.

 

Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated and incurred by responding to this Sources Sought Notice. The Government reserves the right to determine how it should proceed as a result of this notice.

Description of Services: The contractor shall provide 15-30 crankshafts to be used as a *core (* When a crankshaft is repaired, the old or failed part that was replaced is called a core. These cores are then refurbished (recycled) to the original equipment specifications.), to the vendor weekly, who in turn shall supply 15-30 refurbished crankshafts to FOB Destination, Fort Hood, Texas. The Contractor shall be capable to deliver 30 each refurbished crankshafts per business week after the initial shipment of Government provided crankshafts. Please refer to the DRAFT Statement of Work (SOW) for detailed specifics for this requirement.  The contractor shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes.
