The Department of Labor (DOL), Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA), intends to award a sole source contract under FAR 41 U.S.C. 253c (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 (b) – Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available, to CSE Corporation, 1001 Corporate Ln,

Export, PA 15632 for a SRLD Model Self Contained Self Rescuer at its Pittsburgh, PA location.  The SRLD units Model Self Contained Self Rescuers are manufactured by CSE Corporation, equipment part #Q152090001000 and SRLD pouches, equipment part #Q152000145001.  CSE also provide all training materials for the equipment.  CSE’s equipment is NIOSH and MSHA certified for underground mining that meet the needs of the emergency breathing apparatus’s.  MSHA’s device requires that it can be worn on a belt and carried for long durations and give at least 60 minutes of oxygen at a minimum in the event of an underground emergency situation.  This action will be a firm fixed price contract.  The NAICS code for this requirement is 333131 with the size standard of 500.
