This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate an other than full and open competition basis with Life Technologies Corporation to procure custom TaqMan gene expression assays in chosen combinations to maintain existing standard testing protocols. The assays are optimized for equipment currently in use in the lab and for experiments currently in progress.

The probes will be used in analysis in support of ongoing research at the ImmunoTechnology Section to investigate the development, optimization, and application of new technologies to measure the immune response. Place of delivery is Bethesda, MD 20892.

The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
