Notice of Intent: Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements", the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is planning to issue a sole-source contract to obtain products and/or service from Shomex Productions, 2601 Ocean Park Blvd, Suite 200, Santa Monica, CA 90405, in support of the Agency’s efforts to co-sponsor with the NAACP a Diversity Career Fair on April 20, 2004, at the Madison Square Garden, New York, NY. OPM is partnering with NAACP because their event will attract the same diverse group of job candidates. NAACP has selected Shomex Production to provide its conference event support services. Shomex will be responsible for but not limited to automation and telecommunication supports, event marketing services, travel support and computer assistance. Therefore, Shomex is the only available source known at this time to provide the services required by the Agency. OPM deems it appropriate to award a fixed-price contract on other than a full and open competitive basis. Only one responsible source is available and no other types of services will satisfy the needs of the Agency. The North American Standard Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this action is 56192, Convention & Trade Show Organizers, with a small business standard of $6.0 million.
