The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 23, in accordance with FAR 6.302.1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Nuance Communications, Inc. of Melbourne, FL, 32934 for an Annual Service Maintenance Contract for the Nuance Powerscribe & Dictaphone voice activated dictation system. NAICS 541519 applies; the small business size standard is $25 Million. The Contractor shall provide all parts, materials, labor, supervision and technical support necessary to perform all aspects of maintenance, upgrades and service of the Nuance Powerscribe & Dictaphone voice activated dictation system at the VISN 23 locations for the period from date of award through September 30, 2011 with two additional 12 month option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government.
