Lease buyout. The U.S. Geological Survey, National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC) has a requirement to buyout a current lease for an EarthWhere Spatial Data Provisioning System. This will be accomplished as a modification to an existing contract. The current EarthWhere Spatial Data Provisioning System is composed of multiple integrated hardware and software components that together meet the need for storing, managing, viewing, processing and delivering large spatial data sets. The system includes a data storage capacity of approximately 35TB for USGS and commercial data and imagery. It is required that the storage have a data management front end, web interface, API to existing applications, and a data processing and delivery mechanism and EarthWhere software that provides the functionality required to manage, process, and deliver the spatial data used by the USGS NGTOC. In accordance with 36CFR Part 1194, the resources acquired must be compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Based on the information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the supplies specified as a sole source from SANZ, Inc., Englewood, Colorado and proposes to negotiate a buyout contract with this company on that basis. The software being utilized on the already existing system is proprietary and currently only licensed by SANZ, Inc. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel they can furnish the required multiple integrated hardware and software components or its functional equivalent (based on the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit, in writing, an affirmative response to this announcement within ten days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Written notification must include the company name, telephone number, point of contact and sufficient product literature for the government to make a decision. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required services and supplies stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. No solicitation document exists, therefore, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the government's only official notice of this procurement.
