The United States Geological Survey, Menlo Park, CA intends to make a sole source award to Pacific Lightnet Inc. at 737 Bishop Street, 19th Floor Honolulu, HI 96813 for the renewal of 10MBPS Network Services at their site in Hawaii. These services provide USGS with network connectivity and transit services from Hawaii to the Geonet backbone at Menlo Park, CA. It also transmits all USGS internet traffic to/from Hawaii. The USGS have implemented a connection to the Department of Defense (DREN) managed Hawaii Intranet Consortium (HIC) OC 12 SONET provisioned from Pacific Lightnet Inc. No other vendor connection to the SONET ring is allowed due to security reasons. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services shall submit a capabilities statement to the contracting officer no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is NOT an RFQ; no written solicitation will be issued.
