This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Reference âSSA SNMP Managerâ when responding to this announcement. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is attempting to identify vendors that are capable of providing a platform for managing SSAâs network computing environment via TCP/IP System Network Management Protocol (SNMP) methods. The Agency is seeking sources that produce a software package and/or hardware/software solution that will meet the following requirements: 1) Manage SNMP Management Information Bases (MIBs): must contain predefined MIBs as well as allow customer to define own MIBs for management; must allow for a vendor based MIB certification process; must allow for customer to load MIBs from other vendorsâ hardware and software to be monitored the same as all others. 2) Must run without the addition of software at the client level. 3) Must provide mechanism for alerting / notifying higher level management platform. i.e. Tivoli, IBM Netview, Smarts. 4) Must provide robust reporting in a variety of formats, including but not limited to HTML. 5) Must have open database Application Program Interfaces (APIs). 6) Must provide for emailing of reports and alerts. 7) Must scale to SSAâs massive worldwide network ( >150,000 computers). 8) Must be licensed on an enterprise basis. 9) Must also: be delivered in CDROM format; provide documentation both in printed format and on CDROM; provide both email and telephone support during normal business hours, with addâl non-prime time options available. 10) Must be compliant with Section 508 and be compatible with JAWS for NT/2000 screen ready software. Interested vendors must be able to provide verifiable proof by submitting information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agencyâs requirement. Vendors responding should indicate whether their services are available on the GSA Federal Supply Schedules. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSAâs assessment of capable sources.
