PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Alaska Pacific Regional Office (APRO), intends to award a purchase order to Alaska Department of Health and Social Services for data from the Alaska Trauma Registry.

Provide the NIOSH APRO with historical and new data and collaborate with NIOSH in a study regarding work-related injuries.

1. Provide CDC/NIOSH/APRO with cleaned and coded Alaska Trauma Registry, ATR, data (1991- through current date) pertinent to injury prevention, epidemiology, and surveillance.
a. Annual data downloads to CDC/NIOSH/APRO will include all data from 1991-through year being sent.
b. Personal identifying information will not be included in the data sent to CDC/NIOSH/APRO.
c. CDC/NIOSH/APRO will provide DHSS with a list of the fields used for injury surveillance and prevention purposes.
2. Provide CDC/NIOSH/APRO with detailed, specific information on the methods used for data collection and management, as required for publication of findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and government publications.
3. Provide CDC/NIOSH/APRO with detailed information on the procedures used by ATR to verify the validity, completeness, and accuracy of the data.
4. Collaborate with CDC/NIOSH/APRO in improving and enhancing data and procedures with the ATR.
5. Conduct validation studies of the Alaska Trauma Registry, including the evaluation of the completeness and accuracy of case capture, data abstraction and data entry. DHSS will consult with NIOSH, in advance, on the design and conduct of validation studies.
6. Fully inform NIOSH in detail about the methods and results of data validation studies. This will allow NIOSH to satisfy the standards of scientific journals when publishing scientific studies.

The CDC intends to award a single Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order in accordance with FAR Part 13. This is the only notification that will be posted.
