1.0 ABSTRACT: 1.1 This item describes the requirements to install deck fittings, Baxter bolts and modify the Bosons Stateroom. 2.0 REFERENCES: 2.1 None 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION: 3.1 Location/Quantity: 3.1.1. Location: Various locations throughout the ship, Boson’s SR, main deck. 3.1.2. Quantity: 17 Baxter bolts (GFM). 3.2 Item Description/Manufacturer's Data: None 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES/INFO: 4.1 All paint used to touch up new and disturbed areas. See the ships boson. 4.2 Seventeen (17) Baxter Bolts 5.0 NOTES: 5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors must comply with all applicable GTR including but not limited to GTR 1 through 7 and 25. 5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract, to determine their effect on the work required under this work item. . 5.3 All work and material shall be in accordance with ABS requirements. All steel shall be ABS grade A steel. 5.4 Ship check and verify the exact sizes and dimensions before start of work. 5.5 Provide gas free certification in way of hot work throughout the upkeep period. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None additional 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK 7.1 Arrangement/Outfitting: 7.1.2 Relocate the bunks and lockers in the Boson’s stateroom; locate the bunks outboard to fit in the slope of the shell as per the MSC rep., Relocate the locker inboard were the bunks used to be. 7.1.3 Arrange the new Baxter bolts on the weather decks as per the MSC Rep. 7.2 Structural: 7.2.1. Remove bunks and lockers Crop out the existing foundations and modify to suit the new locations of the bunks and lockers. Weld t new bunk foundations on the shell frames to suit new locations bunks. 7.2.2. Install/weld the new Baxter bolts as per the MSC rep. 7.3 Mechanical/Fluid: None 7.4 Electrical: 7.4.1 Rewire the bunk lights for the new location. 7.5 Electronics: None 7.6 Preparation of Drawings: 7.6.1 New drawing showing the new arrangement of the Boson’s stateroom, include details of the bunk and locker foundations. Get the MSC drawing title block and number from the Port engineer. 7.7 Inspection/Test: 7.7.1. Notify the MSC Representative for all tests and inspections. 7.7.2. MSCREP to conduct visual inspection of the fit-up and welding root pass. Notify MSCREP 4 hours in advance for inspection. 7.7.3. ABS surveyor to survey completed repairs. Welds shall be nondestructively tested by a method acceptable to ABS.. 7.8 Painting: 7.8.1. Prime and paint all new and disturbed areas to match existing. 7.8.2. Lagging; replace lagging in way of welding were applicable. 7.9 Marking: None 7.10 Manufacturer's Representative: None 8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 8.1 Material shall be ABS grade “A” steel. 8.2 All welding shall be accomplished by ABS certified welders. 8.3 Provide fire watches and gas free certification were required.
