The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division, Procurement Services Staff, intends to negotiate a sole source modification excess of $25,000 with Capital Office Systems, INC 10400 Connecticut Avenue, Kensington, MD 20895. The acquisition is for the storage of purchased items. The items in question are large specialized library fixtures that were purchased from the OEM under a separate purchase order. The government now requires an unanticipated delay in delivery. The modification shall allow the government to delay the delivery of items. The proposed modification is for equipment/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with Capital Office Systems, INC under the under authority 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Justification for other than Full and Open Competition has been justified, certified and approved for Capital Office Systems, INC. No solicitation document exists. Interested parties must respond within 15 days of this notice with a written statement. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals or bids, and cost or pricing data is not solicited. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon written responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Numbered note 22. ****
