The City of Boston, acting by and through the Chief Information Officer hereby requests sealed proposals from interested and qualified parties to the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) for Network Engineering Consultancy related to: 1) A technical review of the City's Network's Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) existing performance, capacity and connection analysis; 2) A needs assessment of the City's Network's DWDM equipment, and the future demand and capacity; 3) Developing criteria and specifications for replacement equipment; including DWDM/Core DC Power Plants; 4) Evaluation of current state of industry/technology; 5) Engineering guidance for Network Dark Fiber expansion and deployment into the Public Rights of Way, and; Additional network engineering consultancy support for the DWDM and PROW fiber expansion projects.
