The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to make award on a sole source basis under authority FAR Part 6.302-1 with Fresenius USA, located at 2637 Shadelands Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598 for the procurement of eight (8) 2008T dialysis systems with acetic acid/vinegar jugs. This requirement is to replace aged machines due to extensive usage. The U.S. Medical Center currently has twenty-four (24) Fresenius 2008K and thirty-two (32) Fresenius 2008T dialysis systems in operation six days each week. These additional dialysis machines will replace aged machines due to extensive usage. This system allows for the gathering of all aspects of the patient's treatment which monitors and stores critical information in a unique hardware and software system designed specifically for the Fresenius 2008T dialysis machines. Due to the specific hardware and software configurations that are unique to Fresenius, this Sole Source notice is being issued. The procurement will be for a firm-fixed priced purchase order. Any firm who believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by July 29, 2013, 2:00 p.m. (CST). Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
