The scope of this project includes a complete demolition and removal of the existing building and foundation, including soil remediation and building abatement as specified. The construction of a new 713 square foot concrete masonry unit structure includes an exterior cable tray to the existing radio tower. Access to the building and utility yard from the public right-of-way will be improved with a new concrete walkway. Existing storm and sewer systems will be maintained. Existing landscaping will be enhanced around the building, including a new perimeter fence as directed or specified. An upgraded electrical service will be provided from an existing utility pole in the public right-of-way and will include a new in-ground handhold to accommodate all power, data and telecomm to the new building. The new mechanical system will meet all necessary requirements for this type of facility including a clean fire suppression system. The cooling system will be required to meet DoIT's critical cooling criteria including 100% capacity for redundancy. The new electrical system will be enhanced to meet DoIT's increased technical load which will require an upgraded service to 300 amps. A reinstallation of the exterior grounding and new interior grounding will be required to adhere to Motorola's R56 standards. The existing 50 Kw back-up diesel generator will be maintained and reused. In order to maintain existing facility operations during demolition and construction the site will need to be prepared for a temporary equipment trailer including all necessary cable and power hook-ups. Site access will transition from the public right-of-way through adjacent SPU property to a secure perimeter construction fence.
