The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), a U.S. government agency, requires access to a commercial off the shelf (COTS) online database that provides a collection of global sanctions/regulatory/compliance/politically exposed persons (PEP) lists, as well as information on actual or purported financial crimes and terrorist activity, that will complement our existing news, public records, legal, and business databases.

DFC project teams are required to complete Character Reference Due Diligence (CRDD)/KYC checks on individuals and entities directly involved in a proposed project prior to Board of Directors approval or final commitment. The CRDD check alerts project teams to issues that might impact the project moving forward or issues that might arise prior to final signoff/commitment.

The DFC Information Center, part of the Strategic Information Division, conducts the CRDD checks across a variety of news, public records, legal, and business-oriented databases, as well as across sanctions/regulatory/compliance/PEP lists. To support the CRDD requirement, the DFC Information Center requires access to a collection of global sanctions/regulatory/compliance/PEP lists, as well as information on actual or purported financial crimes and terrorist activity, that will complement our existing resources. This database is a critical part of the CRDD process.
