The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a fixed price type contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC), Bethpage, NY, to modify the E-2D UHF Guard Radio with Receiver Capability to incorporate the UHF Guard -Capable ARC-210 RT-1939 Radio, and address Obsolesence issues for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye (AHE) aircraft. The proposed effort also requires NGC to provide associated integration and installation of the Guard Radios into the aircraft. This contractual action will be a task order uder the E-2D AHE BOA Contract N00019-10-G-0004 awarded to NGC. As sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the E-2 aircraft, only NGC has the requisite knowledge and experience required to successfully manufacture or modify the aircraft without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication of cost to the Government.
