The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a firm fixed price sole source task order to procure retrofit kits required under ECP 6234C1 - "Horizontal Stabilator / Fuselage Rubbing - Updated Retrofit Approach."  The intent is for the subject ECP to be incorporated into the F/A 18E/F and E/A 18G aircraft under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001.  This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisy agency requrements."  Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort.  This announcement is for informational purposes only.  Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact The Boeing Company directly.
