The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a fixed price sole source task order to The Boeing Company to submit Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6443C1 to add United States Navy (USN) and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Lots 32 and 33 aircraft, under the Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort.
