The Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/RXOC) currently has a requirement for renewal of maintenance support for existing EMC Isilon Disk Storage. EMC Isilon is a clustered storage system designed specifically to address the needs of storing, managing, and accessing digital content and other unstructured data. An Isilon clustered storage system is composed of three or more nodes, each node is a self-contained, rack mountable device that contains hardware, including disk drives, CPU, memory chips and network interfaces.
A hardware/software conversion, for disk storage maintenance support, would require the replacement of the entire data storage system, since maintenance support must be included with the a specific brand of data storage system
