The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement for support for Precision Approach Landing Systems (PALS) components and assemblies. This support includes engineering studies to aid in the fabrication and/or modification of existing systems/components, as well as repair tear down and evaluation, and/or replacement of existing systems/components. Applicable systems are the AN/SPN-46 Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS) components, the AN/SPN-46(V) Radar Doppler Video Processor (RDVP), the AN/SPN-46(V) Radar Control Group Unit 19 Upgrade, the AN/SPN-46 Receiver, Transmitter and Link 4A, the AN/APN-245 Radio Beacon Sets, UAV Common Automatic Recovery System (UCARS) and the AN/SPN-35C Precision Approach Radar (PAR) components and Receiver and Radar Processor Controller (RPC).
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO COMPETITIVE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. This acquisition is anticipated to be pursued a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements."
GENERAL INFORMATION: Sierra Nevada Corporation (CAGE 8X691) is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the applicable systems, and is the only known qualified, responsible source that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, and technical data required to fulfill the requirements specified. However, companies with capabilities to meet our requirement are requested to provide a response.
