This synopsis serves to announce the intent of the 82nd Contracting Squadron to acquire 20 fuel point nozzle ball vavles for the 364 Training Squadron (TRS), Telecommunications Flight at Sheppard AFB, TX. It will be purchased as a sole source buy from Cla-Val Company. Cla-Val is the only authorized company that can provide the equipment needed for the 364 TRS to conduct various fuel operations.

The equipment required is as follows:

The equipment allows the visual identification fuel strainer positioning during fuel operations, the trainers physical condition and particulate contamination identification in the strainer/hose/fuel. The equipment prevents having to separate the hose and nozzle at periodic interval to inspect or reposition the strainer, unless absolutely required. Procurement reduces exposure to fuel, increases safety for 600+ apprentice level student, and minimizes fuel spill potential. Additionally, the equipment directly supports AF Petroleum Agency and Career Filed Manager's strategic focus efforts on safe fuel handling operations, personnel and environmental protection efforts.
