The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to procure Expi293™ Expression Medium, Quantity: 400 each, from Life Technologies Corporation, 3175 Staley Road, Grand Island, New York 14072. Expi293™ Expression Medium is a chemically defined, serum-free, protein-free medium for growth and transfection of suspension-adapted human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 cells. It is specifically designed as a core component to support high density culture of Expi293F™ cells in the Expi293™ Expression System for scalable transient protein expression. Any other similar product would result in changes to the existing experiment.
This will be a firm fixed price contract in accordance with the statutory authority for this sole source requirement 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-78, dated November 25, 2014.
