NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Glenn will accept sealed bids for the exterior painting of the Jessie King Building located at 516 W. Sycamore St. Willows, CA 95988. Bids shall be delivered to the General Services Department located at 453 E. County Road 49 1/2 Willows, CA 95988 by 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2022. The full Request for Bids can be obtained by clicking the following link: Request for Bids- Exterior Painting of the Jessie King Building (link is external) Below is a tentative timeline and additional details: Date Activity September 2, 2022 Issue Request for Bids September 7, 2022 @ 9:00 a.m. Non-Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting September 8, 2022 @ 5:00 p.m. Deadline for Submittal of Questions September 13, 2022 @ 5:00 p.m. Deadline County’s Response to Questions September 16, 2022 @ 3:00 Bids Due to the County September 23, 2022 Award of Contract Prep work will consist of a thorough pressure wash of all exterior surfaces, including areas that are NOT being painted. This includes all stucco, concrete, metal, exposed aggregate and metal shade louvers. The contractor will remove and dispose of the dead ivy located on the exposed aggregate on the northwest of the building, prior to pressure washing. Cracks and blisters in the stucco and areas where stucco is missing will be patched. Areas where stucco has been patched will be spot-primed prior to painting. New caulking will be applied at any areas containing window gaskets/prior caulking, including those areas where prior caulking/window gasket is loose or missing. There will be two finish colors used, one color will be for the stucco and concrete lip. The second color will be for the metal doors located in the south end of the building and metal paneling located below the windows. Exterior surfaces to be painted include: Stucco columns, 2nd floor stucco and stucco eves (Paint Choice #1) Concrete base that stucco columns attach (Paint Choice #1) Metal panels located below windows, excluding trim (Paint Choice #2) Doors and door frames on the south of the building (Paint Choice #2) Contractor will need to use a lift capable of painting all areas identified in the scope of work and is safe for use on the ground surface where the lift will be located.
