The purpose of this contract is to secure services for Auger-planting Government-furnished tree seedlings and install protective netting on each planted fir tree with Government-furnished netting. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government-furnished) and incidentals to perform all work necessary to plant trees and install protective netting on each fir tree planted on the areas specified, on an estimated 312 acres (approximately 19,000 fir trees to be netted). LOCATION: The planting and netting areas are located on the Grindstone Ranger District of the Mendocino National Forest, Glenn/Tehama Counties, California. The location maps in Section J of the contract will show the general location and normal access routes to the planting units. Due to road conditions in the late spring, four-wheel drive may be required. Project areas can be reached from Elk Creek west on FH-7 to Forest Service road 24N02 to project areas.
