Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), operated by Princeton University under contract to the United States Department of Energy, wishes to obtain expression of interest from qualified and experienced sources capable of fabricating a new Center Stack Casing Assembly for the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) Upgrade Project. The NSTX is the world's highest performance Spherical Tokamak (ST) research facility and is the centerpiece of the U.S. ST research program. The Center Stack Casing (CSC) assembly (CSCA) is a precision machined weldment made from the four different types of parts. Both the upper and lower regions (opposite ends of the structure) have similar parts. The assembled CSCA consists of 1 CSC weldment, 2 bellows with flanges, 2 collar supports and 34 organ pipes. All of the parts are made from Inconel 625 with the exception of the vacuum sealing flanges on the end of the organ pipes which are stainless steel. The CSCA main functions are forming part of the vacuum vessel boundary along with providing structural support to the Plasma Facing Components (PFCs) and the Inner PF coils. The CSC assembly also provides vacuum ports for various diagnostics, instrumentation, and the gas injection system. The CSCA must also facilitate heat up and cool down of PFCs during bakeout and operations respectively. The heating and cooling functions are achieved through various interfaces.

Please review the attached draft specifications and drawings for the CSCA. It is PPPL's desire to have the casing assembly delivered for installation within 36 weeks after placement of order. b) The client, the client's Project Manager's name, current telephone number and email address.
c) The monetary value of the completed project.
d) Brief project description.

4. A preliminary cost estimate and production schedule for the fabrication of the casing assembly. This information is for budget and planning purposes only and is not consider as a formal offer or commitment by the submitting firm.
