Synopsis:

The purpose of this special notice is to obtain necessary Air Force approvals and industry input permitting OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION to provide for a six-month contract extension in support of the FAST II program for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. The Air Force intends to compete between the incumbent primes (and their subcontractors) currently performing under the FAST II contracts shown above. The statutory authority for permitting other than full and open competition for this acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(d)(1)(B)(ii) and is identified in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B) "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". The six (6) month extension is planned in order to support mission critical intelligence tasks without a disruption in service pending the FAST III source selection completion. Under the extension the task orders may be issued from 3 March 2010 to 2 September 2010.
