The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center (FMC Butner), intends to award a sole source purchase order to Duke University Medical Center and PDC, Durham, NC. To provide care to inmates referred for inpatient and outpatient care for the period of August 2010 through September 2010, when care is not otherwise available from the contract provider (MDI), such continuity of care is to avoid unnecessary legal exposure. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 - only responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code is 622110. To the best of our knowledge, Duke University Medical Center and PDC are the only providers of this service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, as no solicitation document is available. However any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give a written or fax notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of this published synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement.
