Objective is to work with a company that has already developed a robust dataset derived from web harvested national and international syllabi. The dataset must include select data from 10 or more years of national and international syllabi, and with at least seven million syllabi processed in the dataset. Larger goal is to create a related dataset from FIU syllabi that will be compared to the national and international data using specific analysis functions beneficial to FIU, including analysis centered on textbook affordability; Open Educational Resource assessments; and data from FIU syllabi benefiting library operations and purchases, among other needs. FIU annually serves over 50,000 students. Three (3) year contract, with access to all currently envisaged Analytics and related OS tools and services, including: planned emerging tools for supporting course transfer decision making and learning outcome analysis. Preferred deployment will begin Summer/Fall 2023. Plans include that the company must be able to assure FIU syllabi will be protected from unauthorized access while parsing data from the university syllabi into an FIU dataset, for comparison with the larger national and international anonymized datasets, and for independent use by FIU. Focus will include analysis of assigned texts and other classroom resources compared with national and international data.
