CITY OF FORNEY REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP 2020-008) The City of Forney is accepting bids for site improvements at Fire Station #2 located at 980 Reeder Road, Forney, TX. Sealed proposals addressed to the City of Forney will be received by the Finance Department, located on the first floor of City Hall at 101 E. Main St., Forney TX 75126, until 2:00 p.m. October 13, 2020. Proposals may be mailed to the City of Forney, P.O. Box 826, Forney TX 75126 or hand-delivered to the first floor of City Hall at 101 E. Main, Forney, TX 75126. Sealed Bids will be opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on October 13, 2020. Bidders must submit with their bids a Cashier’s Check or a Certified Check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the maximum amount of the bid payable without recourse to the Owner or a proposal bond in the same amount. The contract award is contingent upon City Council approval at the November 3, 2020, City Council meeting. Proposal envelope must state: Forney Fire Station #2 Site Improvements Project Scope of Work: This project is to control drainage and erosion issues on the vacant slope on the east side of the Fire Station # 2. The project would scarify the existing 18,000 square feet area, regrading the area to create a new swale. Install a new inlet and storm drain to tie into the existing drainage facilities on-site. Place Geotextile Fabric on scarified area, top with 3” thickness of granular rock on 2,160 square yard area with 2” diameter rock. Export approximately 1,050 square yards of earth. Place concrete apron around the new inlet. The project also includes adding 8 new parking spaces, with an additional 4 spaces planned as Alternate #1, to allow for greater flexibility at shift change times. Relocation of the fencing on the south side of the site, and the addition of sidewalk along the southern portion of the Whaley Drive to provide pedestrian connectivity is also planned. Sidewalk construction will be included as Alternate #2. Bidders are required to provide all materials, equipment, and labor required for the construction of the project along with a two (2) year Performance and Maintenance Bond in the amount of Contract. The effective date of the maintenance period will commence upon the date of project acceptance by the City of Forney City Council. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish not only a performance bond in the amount of the contract but also a payment bond for the protection of all claimants supplying labor and materials.
