THIS SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD. 20670, Atlantic Test Range (ATR) Aircraft Signature & Avionics Measurement Branch, in support of the Advanced Dynamic Range Measurement System (ADAMS) intends to award a sole source contract to ProtoCAD Corporation for the procurement of Frangible Spheres used to calibrate the ATR/ADAMS radars before, during, and after each mission to improve test safety standards while meeting technical requirements set by the navy Range Safety Office engineers. 

This is a follow-on effort with up to 1800 Frangible Spheres or 360 per year over 5 years. The frangible spheres are critical to flight test operations because data relies on the accuracy of radar measurements which are calibrated by floating spheres through air while attached to balloons. 

The applicable NAICS Code is 339999. This acquisition is being purchased on a sole source basis under the statuary of Title 10, U.S.C. 2304 (1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. While this notice of intent is for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability, which shall be considered by NAVAIR.
