The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Connecticut Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with Fresenius USA, Inc., 1425 Tr-State PKWY, Suite 160, Gurnee, IL 60031 regarding the procurement of two (2) Fresenius 2008K System Dialysis Machines. The proposed action is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.301-1. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies/services that will satisfy the agency requirements. VA CT currently has 14 Fresenius 2008K System dialysis machines currently in use and it is imperative that we procure two more of the same to keep the continuity of patient care in tack while ptroviding the ability to treat more veteran patients. This notice is not a request for comptetitive quotes but responses received on or before 1:00pm on September 27,2004 will be evaluated. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered soley for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement. NAICS Code 334510 applies to this procurement.
