The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District (POJ) is performing market research for a Design-Bid -Build (DBB) construction project titled: "FY13 DODEA MILCON PA00028 Zama High School Renovation, Camp Zama, Japan." This announcement represents a market survey that is intended for preliminary planning purposes only. This purpose of this notice is to identify sources capable of performing this project and to receive responses from those firms to assist the Government's acquisition planning. This survey does not constitute a commitment by the Government for any follow-on announcements, solicitation, or award. This is NOT a solicitation. The Government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this market survey. This market survey is intended for local sources only. Local sources are those sources physically located and licensed to conduct business in Japan. Firms interested and capable of performing this work are highly encouraged to submit a response (submission requirements are located within this notice).

Project Description:
This project will renovate the existing high school building 906 and existing middle school buildings 912 and 913 and improve site conditions to meet ABA, parking requirements, and AT/FP standards. The school will incorporate advanced communication systems to support technology program requirements, as well as general communications. The project includes site work such as signage and paving.
The project includes related infrastructure such as utilities, parking areas, and bus loading/unloading areas. The project will not require demolition of any buildings.
The use of temporary classroom facilities will be used to accommodate the renovation of buildings while school is in session.
BLDG 906 (High School Classrooms): Renovations shall include but not be limited to: structural seismic retrofit, removal/replacement of existing gypsum board ceilings, ACM abatement, elevator upgrade, emergency/exit lighting, replacement of all doors, windows and locking system. Upgrade the fire alarm system to addressable type and provide sprinkler system, floor and wall finishes, upgrade/replace Public Address (PA) system, Intercom (IC), LAN, communications, cable, telephone, provide security cameras, upgrade all plumbing and sanitary systems, upgrade cabinetry, replace remaining HVAC equipment, replace ceiling, lights, roof repairs, and power requirements.
BLDG 912 (Auditorium): Renovations include but not be limited to: removal/replacement of existing gypsum board ceilings, ACM abatement, upgrade emergency/exit lighting, replace all doors, windows and locking system, upgrade fire alarm system to addressable type and provide wet sprinkler system, floor and wall finishes, upgrade/replace PA, IC, LAN, communications, cable, telephone, provide security cameras, upgrade all plumbing, fixtures, and sanitary systems, upgrade cabinetry, new ductwork and diffusers, replace ceiling and lighting, repair roofing, and power requirements, provide new theater lighting and sound system.
BLDG 913 (Classrooms-Admin) : Renovations include but are not limited to: structural seismic retrofit, removal/replacement of existing gypsum board ceilings, ACM abatement, upgrade elevator, emergency/exit lighting, replace all doors, windows and locking system, upgrade fire alarm system to an addressable type and provide wet sprinkler system, floor and wall finishes, upgrade/replace PA, IC, LAN, communications, cable, telephone, provide security cameras, upgrade all plumbing and sanitary systems, upgrade cabinetry, HVAC and ceiling as required, repair roofs, and upgrade power to meet requirements.
