The Armed Forces Retirement Home ââ¬â Gulfport, MS, through Bureau of Public Debt, Department of Treasury, intends to issue on a sole source basis, a simplified acquisition to Reverend Joseph Uko, herein referred to as contractor. The contractor shall provide services, counseling, pastoral care, sacramental ministry, religious education, and visitation of resident personnel.Duties shall include:
- Primary duty shall be to conduct pastoral visitations to and for the AFRH-G residents and to conduct Sunday religious services.
- Conduct rites and sacraments such as: communion, baptism, marriage, funeral, and worship services in accordance with established procedures of the Catholic denomination.
- Assist in the development of and conducting of special religious services such as: Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day, Christmas Day, Easter, etc., which are ecumenical and/or non-denominational in character when scheduled.
- Contractor shall set up religious facilities, equipment and liturgical appointments for programs and worship services; assist and/or instruct volunteers during worship services.
Also, will be responsible to set up all necessary equipment and supplies for pastoral duties and remove same when pastoral work has been completed.
- Organize and distribute devotional, religious education and publicity materials as directed by the various published programs of the Chaplain
Service.
- Contractor will work out of and shall be available for scheduled visits, and pastoral counseling in the office designated by the government. These visits shall be performed so as not to interfere with the weekly visitation schedule.
-Contractor shall prepare and provide essential information to the Chaplain Service for the preparation of worship bulletins and other publications.
- Coordinate calendars with planning calendar of Chaplain Service.
- The contractor's work is to be performed in support of the AFRH-G Chaplain Service's program of religious and pastoral ministry.
Schedule of Work:
- Sunday Mass > 52ea (FFP)
- Weekday Mass and visitation with residents
(Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only) > 1248hr
- Funeral/Memorial Services > 10ea
- Holy Day Services > 25ea
- Special services to include Lenten masses,
Advent masses, Stations of the Cross, and Rosary
Recitations > 64ea
Public Debt will consider all affirmative responses received no later than 2:00 p.m., EDT on September 10, 2004. Affirmative responses shall be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show the ability to provide the required services. Requests for more information or a copy of the solicitation will not be considered affirmative responses. If no affirmative response is received that clearly demonstrates their ability to meet all requirements and that it is more advantageous to the Government, we will make a sole source award to Reverend Joseph Uko.
