This synopses is in accordance with FAR 5.203 Publicizing and response time. On, or about, 24 Oct 2008, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) will release a solicitation in search of a Contractor that will be able to provide Catholic Ministry and Pastoral Care in support of the Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care (DMPC) of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington DC as required or requested. The requirement that the Contractor and his or her staff must meet the following qualifications: 1) Contractor must possess ecclesiastical endorsement, dated within the past 12 months, from their official national endorsing authority; 2) Contractor must possess the Master of Divinity degree, normally based upon completions of 3 years of graduate study, or possess equivalent educational qualifications; 3) Contractor must meet or exceed requirements of the Joint Commission and Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), and Contractor will possess no less than four units of verifiable Clinical Pastoral Education as defined by the Association for Pastoral Education (ACPE) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC); 4) Contractor must be a member in good standing of one of the following groups approved by JCAHO; 5) Contractor and Contract Priests will be experienced in providing pastoral care in a hospital environment to patients, staff, and family members; and 6) Contractor and Contract Priests must possess a knowledge and ability in Pastoral Care and Counseling, Trauma Resolution, Sermon Preparation and Delivery, Ecclesiology, Liturgy, and Marriage and Family Ministry. The Contract will be awarded as a Base Year Contract with Four Option Years-if exercised.
