USU has a requirement for a Gamma Beam Irradiator. USU currently has the following similar equipment and is looking to build on current capabilities: J.L. Sheppard
Required Specifications:
Interested offerors responding to this RFI, must provide information on whether they could quote a product that meets the following required specifications.
Irradiator Specifications
• Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approval via Registry of Radioactive Sealed Sources and Devises Safety Evaluation of Device to install/reuse J.L. Sheppard Source Model # 6810 into the newly acquired irradiator
• Six source or more irradiator housing capacity
• Automated Computer irradiator Control System that provides:
o Source selection
o Exposure rate
o Exposure time
o Safety System status
o Location of alignment bench
• Automatic decay correction
• 16 exposure intensities
• Programmable instrument calibration procedures
o Recall procedures for instrument calibration
• Linear positioning system with software corrected exposure rates
• Micro-Roentgen to Roengton per hour exposure intensities
• Thee axis (multi-axis) linear positioning system
• Instrument camera
