The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, hereby announces the solicitation for “Gavins Point Spillway Bridge Structural Repairs and Paint, Gavins Point, SD”.  The solicitation will close on 09 August 2024.   The solicitation is restricted to Small Businesses.   

Site Visit:

A Site Visit is scheduled and additional information regarding the site visit is provided in the solicitation via FAR Clause 52.236-27.   The site visit is scheduled for 17 July 2024.

Project Description: 

The requirement for this project is the comprehensive restoration and protection of structural and surface elements of a hydraulic structure, aimed at ensuring its long-term integrity, functionality, and safety. This encompasses a series of specific tasks designed to address existing deficiencies and prevent future deterioration. These tasks include:

1. Repair of 28 corroded or distorted stringer connections.

2. Repair of cracks in Pier 2 concrete.

3. Replacement of broken alignment bolts at the expansion joint in the beam supporting the monorail.

4. Removal of an existing failed paint system along with underlying corrosion.

The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 547 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after solicitation issuance. 

Estimated Construction Costs:

The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
