INVITATION FOR BID IFB #053-43 For the provision of: GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR HIRE To renovate two (2) fire stations in Hall County, Georgia ADDENDUM #003 Questions from the Mandatory On-Site Pre-Bid Meetings at Hall County Fire Station #9 and #10. REVISED SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Date IFB Issued: Monday, April 3, 2023 Mandatory Pre-Bid Site Visit: Tuesday, April 11, 2023, 9:00am Bidder’s Questions Due Date: Friday, April 14, 2023 County’s Response to questions: Tuesday, April 18, 2023 Bid Due Date: Tuesday, May 2, 2023, 2:00pm EST 1.0 SCOPE OF WORK CLARIFICATIONS Q1: Who is responsible for obtaining permits? A1: Contractor is responsible for obtaining all appropriate permits for the two remodels. Q2: Who will choose paint and stain colors, tile choices and countertop? A2: Fire Rescue [Owner] will choose all colors for all paints, stains, tiles, and countertops. Q3: Who will provide paint samples? A3: Contractor will provide paint samples for all walls in living areas and apparatus bay to include trim/metal door paint. Q4: What color of stain is required on wooden doors? A4: Contractor to provide all wooden interior doors dark stain color samples to Owner. Q5: What about interior signage? A5: Contractor to replace all interior living space and apparatus bay signage (i.e. Men’s Restroom, Women’s Restroom, Office). Replace all old signage removed in order to paint the walls or doors with new signage of same. Q6: Details on restrooms A6: Station 9 and 10 men’s and women’s restrooms would have the under sink cabinet constructed to normal height with doors to allow under cabinet storage. The Contractor is to replace bathroom sinks and hardware. This will also include a solid surface countertop (Corian style) that is easily maintained and cleaned. Fire Rescue will choose the color based on neutral color samples provided by the contractor. NOTE: Contractor is to renovate only one restroom at a time so that the firefighters always have one to use. Q7: Details on Station 10 showers A7: Station 10 men and women’s restroom showers; Contractor to remove the fiberglass showers and replace with ceramic tile (large tile with small grout lines). The tile would transition out into the showers hallway and up the wall to a height of no less than 86 inches. The tile would start at the wall leading into the showers hallway. The showers will be open to the ceiling. All showers will get new hardware. Q8: Details on Station #9 showers A8: Station 9 men and women’s restroom will have the fiberglass insert showers removed and ceramic tile showers constructed as a replacement due to the current height of the prefabricated shower. The height of the tile will be no less than 86 inches in the shower. Contractor to replace all hardware with the shower. The shower will be open to the ceiling. Q9: Details on tile choices A9: All tile in both male and female restrooms shall be large tile with small grout lines. Q10: Details on ceiling tiles A10: All ceiling tiles will match throughout the station. Q11: Details on Station #9 women’s restroom A11: Contractor to remove Station 9 women’s restroom off the bunkroom, fiberglass insert shower and replace with a ceramic tile shower constructed as a replacement due to the current height of the prefabricated shower. The height of the tile will be no less than 86 inches in the shower. Contractor to replace all hardware with the shower. The shower will be open to the ceiling. Q12: Details on Station 9 flag pole lighting A12: Station 10 has a light positioned to shine on the flagpole. Station 9 has no such light. Specifications are to replicate the flagpole lighting at Station 10 at Station 9 but with energy efficient LED lighting. This entails matching the light fixture, or equivalent in fit, form and function, and running power to the light. Q13: Details on Apparatus bay ceiling fans A13: Contractor to relocated ceiling fans in the apparatus bay are and relocate to new fans to the center of the each bay, one over each apparatus lane. The fan choice is Hubbell® Industrial 96 in. Six-Blade Indoor/Outdoor Nickel Dual Mount Ceiling Fan with Wall Control. Alternative fans must be similar in fit, form and function. Owner to approve any alternative options. Q14: Further details on restrooms and showers. A14: This item was not discussed at the Pre-Bid Meeting. Station 9 and 10 women restroom need the exact same updates (new tile showers, sink cabinets with doors, new sink, and hardware). Contractor to remove the fiberglass insert shower and replace with a ceramic tile shower constructed due to the current height of the prefabricated shower. The height of the tile will be no less than 86 inches in the shower. The shower will be open to the ceiling. Contractor is to replace all hardware in the shower. Both station 9 and 10 women’s restroom will also have the single sink cabinet with doors replaced, new sink, and hardware.
