The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to Avtron Manufacturing Inc. for the Avtron K-400B XL modernization package, 1 each, for the K-400B Generator Test Stand. Avtron is the manufacturer and sole proprietor of this item. APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY: Request to award this requirement to only one responsible due to required item being manufactured by Avtron Manufacturing Incorporated only. Avtron Manufacturing Inc. has proprietary rights to all parts and specifications. The 4th Component Maintenance Squadron currently maintains a K-400B Generator Test Stand that requires the K-400B XL Modernization upgrade in order to meet F-15E aircraft generator testing, repairs and operational checks to meet mission requirements. The K-400B XL upgrade is offered to the Government from Avtron Manufacturing Inc. as an economical way to logistically sustain and maintain the Test Stand. Installing this upgrade package will extend the life of the test stand by an estimated 25 years. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 25 August 08 at 4:30 P.M.
