Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), a federally funded research and development facility (FFRDC) conducting research in fusion energy and the science of plasmas, seeks firms interested in providing consulting services to assist PPPL in the possible migration from Microsoft Exchange 2003 system to Google Apps. Attached is a DRAFT Statement of Work that identifies the basic requirements that PPPL is looking to have completed. The laboratory is operated by Princeton University under contract to the US Department of Energy, and is located on Princeton University's James Forrestal Campus in Plainsboro, New Jersey. It has a staff of approximately 450, including physicists, engineers, administrators, support personnel, graduate students, and visitors. Its annual budget is approximately $80 Million. Statements of Interest shall be sent to Kevin Ranahan at [email protected] by Friday, August 6, 2010. The statement must include company name; DUNS Number; name, e-mail address and phone number of the company's point of contact; description of the company's previous experience in providing services of this nature, including client and contact name, with telephone number and email address; and whether or not the company qualifies as a Small Business. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this work is expected to be 541512, "System integration design consulting services, computer." Those submitting statements of interest will be notified via email of any RFP posting. This Request for Expressions of Interest (RFI) should not be construed as a commitment by PPPL to issue a solicitation or to ultimately award a contract. Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kinds of offers will be considered in response to this RFI. This RFI is in no way binding on PPPL, and PPPL will not pay for any information submitted in response to this request. Information submitted will be used to facilitate acquisition planning. No proprietary information shall be submitted in response to this RFI. This determination of an acquisition strategy, based upon comments submitted by interested parties in response to this RFI, is solely within the discretion of PPPL.
